MACON, Ga. – The 皇冠体育官网 Athletic Department held its annual Senior Athletic Assembly on Monday morning, May 18 to recognize the achievements of the Class of 2015.

Those participating in athletics during their senior year were recognized one last time in front of the student body in the Middlebrooks Athletic Center. All head coaches and assistant coaches from the varsity level to middle school gave hugs, handshakes and farewell wishes to all involved.

“We are really proud of the Class of 2015,” 皇冠体育官网 Athletic Director Greg Moore said. “Being a student-athlete is not easy and everyone is to be commended for their efforts.”

Megan Ingram and Jam Morris were also honored at the ceremony as 皇冠体育官网’s Female and Male Athlete of the Year, respectively.

“The Athlete of the Year award is given to a female and male member of the senior class each year to honor an individual who exhibits hard work in the classroom and hard work on the field in multiple sports,” Moore added.

Ingram, a member of the varsity girls basketball and soccer team, had a strong senior campaign.

On the court, Ingram posted four points per game while averaging 4.6 rebounds and one steal per contest. She lettered three years in basketball and started all 21 games her senior season.

On the pitch, Ingram lettered all four years of competition and was part of a tenacious Lady Viking defense that advanced to the GHSA Class-A Final Four in 2015.

She has participated in two GHSA Class-A State Championships, never lost a region soccer game and was selected to the 2015 All-Area 2 Team.

Morris, who starred in football, basketball and track, played a vital role to 皇冠体育官网’s success in 2014-15.

In football, Morris, a four-year letterman and team captain, was third on the team in rushing (minimum 20 attempts) averaging 6.7 yards per carry and second on the squad in touchdowns with nine. For his efforts, Morris was named to the 2014 All-Region 7-A Team and the 2014 All-Middle Georgia Team.

On the court, Morris aided a rebuilding Viking squad in averaging three points per game.

In track and field, Morris lettered four years and was pivotal in leading 皇冠体育官网 to its fourth consecutive Area-1 Private Championship and a GHSA Class-A Private State Runner-Up finish.

At state, Morris finished fifth in the high jump (6-02) and was part of the 4 x 100m Relay and 4 x 400m Relay team that finished second and third overall, respectively.

In Area competition, Morris was third overall in the 100m Dash (11.41), second in the Long Jump (20-05) and first in the High Jump (6-01).

“Megan and Jam finished with great careers,” Moore said. “They are testaments to all of our student-athletes who continue to strive for excellence.”

The 皇冠体育官网 Athletic Department sincerely thanks the Class of 2015 for all their hard work and dedication through the years. We wish you God’s richest blessings in your future endeavors!
